Have you ever felt…..
Not good enough?
Not at a place where God can use YOU?
Have you ever felt like….
You needed to be at a certain place spiritually to be used by God?
You had to get your act together, THEN I can make a difference?
I have too, and still do.
But there is a problem with this. The emphasis is on YOU. The emphasis is on ME.
Check this out:
“Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things – and the things that are not – to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God – that is, our righteousness, holiness, and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” – 1 Corinthians 1:26-31
In reality, nothing is ever about us being good enough. It’s not about what we do. It’s about what HE HAS DONE.
God chose a murderer who stuttered to speak to Pharoah and lead His people out of Egypt.
God chose a man who murdered followers of Christ to be one of the greatest missionaries of all time.
God chose a cross to defeat sin and death, not a sword.
Feel inadequate to be used by God? Me too. Because we are. But God doesn’t use us because of how good we are, but because of how good HE is. So no one can boast about what WE have done, but about what HE has done through us.
So be encouraged, our God is much bigger and much greater than our weaknesses!
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. – 2 Corinthians 12:9
